Wicked
April 22, 2009
The very first night I was in Melbourne I went to watch Wicked, which was very good in my opinion.
Very good not just because I liked the music, or the characters, or the settings. Very good because it taught me that not everything is what it seems to be, and most importantly, everyone has a side of a story that they can tell and believe that they’re right.
It just like history textbooks being historically correct and yet so full of bias at the same time. Just because we’ve read one side of how things work out doesn’t mean that that side is the correct one. What we should do instead, is to put ourselves in the shoes of the antagonist.
When I was in Melbourne I didn’t think that time would be something that I would be short of, but in the end it was. But overall it was pretty fun in Melbourne, and it didn’t change my mind that I would have enjoyed myself immensely if I studied and stayed there. But I’m not, so make do I will have to.
Raymond’s leaving Christchurch for good today, but somehow it doesn’t feel like a very farewell-y moment for me, perhaps because I will be seeing him in Kuching in the future anyway, so all’s good. But I think he’ll be missed by lots of people, simply because he’s the person he feels comfortable to be as.

I agree =)
